While hiking around the rocks just off Black Rock Exit, AZ, this lizard was caught sprawled out and sunbathing on a hot rock. I'm pretty sure it was napping too, because it didn't even move when I got close. Love that sunshine! This 'Sunbather' was about 6-7 inches long. I'm not sure what this lizard is really named, I haven't been able to identify it yet, but I really enjoyed watching and photographing it.
I am looking forward to posting a new picture and short story each week, as I have many to share! And, I look forward to your comments.
I love lizards they are all over the place in the desert. They run when you get close but if you stop and dont move you can catch them looking at you. Have fun on your journeys. Look forward to reading them.
